The main purpose of the Mahilyow Regional
Clinic for Sports Medicine is to provide the medical care and treatment
for the sportsmen, as well as for the persons engaged in fitness, remedial
gymnastics, other physical activities, and tourism. The Clinic works
in close contact with the National Olympic Committee of the Republic
of Belarus, the Academy for Physical Education, various Sports Federations,
as well as other sports organizations.
Apart from the medical care and treatment activities for the sportsmen,
the Clinic organizes the variety of sports and health care activities,
and sports competitions, and takes care for the medical supervision
in general. The staff of the Clinic analyzes the reasons for the athletic
and sports-related injuries, and accidents, introduces the updated methods
for the professional selection of sportsmen, studies the updated diagnostics,
develops and improves the system for the complex medical examinations
of the sportsmen.
The Clinic leads the respective R&D, studying the functional conditions
of the highly qualified sportsmen, using also the non-medical care methods
for rehabilitation sessions after traumas, injuries, and diseases.
The staff of the Clinic (January, 2010): 50 doctors, 84 medical nurses,
and 56 caretakers.
